Sustainability
As a business that provides products for children, we understand the important role we play in minimising our environmental impact and ensuring a more sustainable future for the next generation.
We are continuously working to make improvements in all aspects of our business to ensure we drive sustainable change and become as environmentally friendly as we can. We are doing this through sourcing sustainable alternatives and responsible innovations wherever we can and promoting eco-friendly practices at our offices. We are members of a company called ‘Products of Change’ who further support us with our aim of driving sustainable change within our business.
We have already made huge progress, but we are on a mission to always do better.
Here are some of the current initiatives and changes we have made:
Our Suppliers
We constantly consider the sustainability of our products and material choices with our suppliers to ensure our products are as eco-friendly as possible. We are also members of the British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) and as part of working with the BTHA we ensure all our manufacturers and suppliers are subject to annual social audits to ensure compliance. This covers all areas of social compliance including ethical and responsible conduct, respect for the rights of individuals, respect for the environment, and commitment to the Modern Day Slavery Act.
Our Products
Every product is independently tested by accredited laboratories to the British and European Safety Standards (BS EN71 parts 1,2 & 3) and carries the CE & UKCA mark as signs of conformity.
All our products have been carefully designed to ensure they withstand the test of time and offer years of play. We invest in high-quality, long-lasting materials because it is important to us that our products will remain in your homes for years to come.
All the stuffing used in our dolls is made from recycled PET bottles, and the filling of each Tiny Treasures doll is made from 4 recycled plastic bottles.
*Approximate calculation based on 500ml 13.5g water bottle (excluding bottle cap, tamper evidence seal and label)
We are making every effort to ensure our products are as eco-friendly as possible and are always looking at ways to reduce as much plastic as we can from our products. Stay tuned for updates.
Our Packaging
As part of our commitment to sustainability we have made lots of changes to our packaging to ensure it is as eco-friendly as possible. Nearly all of our packaging is now 100% plastic free and so far we have removed over 4.5 tonnes of plastic from our packaging. We have also removed all the polystyrene from our wooden items and now use cellular card for protection during transit.
We use FSC™ certified cardboard for all our packaging which ensures it was responsibly produced and complies with the highest social and environmental standards.
Tiny Treasures doll packaging has also been carefully designed so that it can be used after opening to further extend play value. The dolls come packaged in a car seat style box with real fabric straps and a plastic safety clip, just like a real car seat. Once the box is no longer required for play and the straps have been removed, the box is completely recyclable.
Our Offices
Our efforts to drive sustainable change within our business don’t just stop with our products. We are continually looking at ways to make our office environments as eco-friendly as possible. We strive to recycle as much as we possibly can, to reduce our energy consumption, and to donate product samples to nurseries, schools and charities.
